NoteTell’s Privacy Policy describes how NoteTell collects, uses, and shares your personal data.

The NoteTell Money Reader app does not collect any data. Its privacy label on the App Store says “Data Not Collected.”

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy covers how NoteTell handles personal data whether you use the NoteTell app, visit our website at notetell.com, or contact us.

Our website links to third parties, such as the App Store. This Privacy Policy does not apply to how third parties define personal data or how they use it. We encourage you to read their privacy policies and know your privacy rights before interacting with them.

Who we are

NoteTell is provided by GeeksModo Limited, a company based in Kenya, which is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. Our contact details are under Privacy questions, at the end of this policy.

The NoteTell app

Recognition happens on your iPhone. The NoteTell Money Reader app does not transmit any data to NoteTell, and it recognizes bills without an internet connection.

Camera. NoteTell asks for permission to use your iPhone’s camera. It uses the camera only to recognize banknotes while the app is open. Camera images are processed on your iPhone in real time. They are not stored, and they are not sent to NoteTell or to anyone else.

No accounts, trackers, analytics, or ads. The NoteTell app doesn’t require an account. It doesn’t contain trackers, analytics, or advertising, and it doesn’t track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Purchases. Apple processes purchases of the NoteTell full version through the App Store. NoteTell does not receive your name or your payment information.

Crash reports. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may share crash reports and other diagnostic information with NoteTell. This information is collected by Apple and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We use it only to find and fix problems in the app.

Personal data NoteTell collects from you

You are not required to provide any personal data to use NoteTell. If you choose to email us, we collect your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message.

Our website

Our website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or advertising technologies. If you choose a light or dark appearance, or a wider page, your choice is saved in your browser and is never sent to us.

Our website is hosted by a web hosting provider. When you visit, the host automatically records technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.

NoteTell’s use of personal data

NoteTell uses personal data only to respond to you, to provide support, to protect our website, and to comply with law. Our legal basis for responding to you, providing support, and protecting our website is our legitimate interest in doing so. Our legal basis for complying with law is our legal obligation. We don’t use personal data to make automated decisions about you.

NoteTell deletes emails, and any personal data in them, 12 months after our last exchange with you. Our web hosting provider deletes website logs after 30 days. We keep crash reports only until the problem is fixed. We keep personal data longer only when the law requires it.

NoteTell’s sharing of personal data

NoteTell does not sell your personal data, and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

NoteTell uses service providers, such as our email and web hosting providers, to process personal data on our behalf. They provide the same or equal protection of your personal data as this Privacy Policy, and they may use it only to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose personal data when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid court order. We may disclose it when we believe that’s necessary to protect the safety of our users or others.

Transfer of personal data between countries

NoteTell is based in Kenya. Our service providers may store personal data in other countries. When we transfer personal data outside Kenya, we do so in accordance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, with appropriate safeguards in place.

Your privacy rights

You have the right to know, access, correct, transfer, restrict the processing of, and delete the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to object to our use of your personal data. Where you have given your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.

To exercise your privacy rights, including to ask us to delete your personal data, email us at info@notetell.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable regulator.

Protection of personal data

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, change, or disclosure. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee the security of personal data you send us.

Children and personal data

NoteTell does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13, or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction. The NoteTell app doesn’t collect personal data from anyone. If we learn that a child has sent us personal data without appropriate consent, we will delete it as soon as possible.

We periodically post updates to our Privacy Policy. The date it was last updated appears at the top of this page. When we make a material change, we’ll post a notice on this page at least a week before the change takes effect.
